Salon Express began with a question: how might we help customers discover local salon services while saving time and money?
The answer was an app that removes the need to stand in line, letting people research and compare salons instead, solving the common struggle of finding the right salon (the right location, services, availability, and prices) without reliable information or reviews to guide the decision, by making it easy to view and book salon appointments in one place.
Requirements
-
Gender-neutral, trustworthy design — the application should feel clear in purpose and convey reliability for all users.
-
Easy salon discovery — customers should be able to find salons nearby, complete with ratings and key details.
-
Booking and visual content — direct in-app booking, plus photos and videos of salons and services, so customers can make informed decisions.
Solution
-
Blue conveys trust and professionalism — a natural fit for corporate branding, helping the application feel reliable and credible.
-
Clear, minimal navigation — labeled icons and a streamlined homepage help users find what they need fast, with flexible search by salon name, location, or service.
-
Direct booking and communication — users can schedule appointments with reminders and message salon experts directly to customize services to their needs.

Struggles
-
Personalization: A mobile application should allow users to personalize their experience by saving their favorite salons, stylists, and services, making it easier for them to find what they need in the future.
-
Booking process: A mobile application should make it easy for users to book appointments, with clear instructions and a streamlined booking process.
-
Review and ratings: A mobile application should allow users to read reviews and ratings from other customers, which can help them make informed decisions about the salons they are considering.
